New Committee to Continue Growth of Club in its Anniversary Year

The Hertfordshire Cheetahs Committee are looking to continue the amazing work carried out by the previous chairman of the club, Al Tepper, who has taken a step back to focus on his career and the senior team.

Al Tepper has said:

“After almost 5 years as Chairman of the Cheetahs I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved together and how far we’ve come together.

There are too many people to thank by name but special mentions go to Richard ‘Digger’ Barnes, Kate Fay, Luke Clark, Dan Howard and most recently Faye Eastwood for their tireless committee and operational work.

Three ex-coaches also deserve special mentions for driving the club forwards during their tenure. I continue to wish Coaches Maxey, Pattni & Barnes every success in their football careers.

They’ve all put so much into the club and we’d never have got where we are without all their efforts. And the countless players and coaches too numerous to name here.

The one constant throughout my tenure has been Kevin Knight from whom I assumed the Chairmanship at the time. Kevin’s unswerving loyalty and cast-iron commitment to the Cheetahs are second to none.

Due to the launch of my own business and the resulting shortage of time to spare I find myself faced with the agonising choice between remaining as Chairman of the whole club or solely helping the Adult team itself.

We have a great committee and I have more than enough confidence in their work ethic and commitment to the Cheetah Pride.

The current committee, who have been in place since October, have already carried out stellar work in order to deliver a sustainable club for this year and beyond and have taken the reigns without hesitation when I have been unable to commit so much time to the Cheetahs.

This Adult squad is the best I’ve ever seen assembled and we have a fantastic new coaching leadership in place.

I joined the club to coach and it’s time to get back to what I love most.

So I’ve chosen to focus all my energy and efforts on the Adult squad.

I have every confidence in the committee and have handed the reins back to Kevin who will serve as Interim Chairman ably assisted by Luke Clark (Treasurer), Andy Dickins (Club Secretary), Mark Foster (Member representative) & Andy Campion (Social secretary).

It’s going to be a great year as the Adult team surges forward with its new coaching leadership of Coaches Brown, Ramsay & Bradford, as the Junior team reboots with a new and exciting HC, as the youth program continue to drive forwards under the stirling leadership and phenomenal commitment of Coaches Ward & Eastwood and as the flag squad continues to shock the world thanks to Coaches Richardson & Bellchambers.

And we get to enjoy our second year at a fantastic home. That’s the first time I’ve been able to say that. A huge achievement.

So, here’s to the next 30 years
