As the Cheetahs’ Junior programme goes from strength to strength, it is with great pleasure that we can reveal the 17 coaches who will be working with the squad for the upcoming season:
Head Coach Alex Halms said:
“I am delighted to announce the U19s coaching staff for the 2018 season. It has been a tough selection process, but with this blend of youth and experience, the Cheetahs are well placed to build on the 2017 playoff campaign, as we seek even greater heights. I would like to highlight, in particular, the additions of Andy Dickins and our graduate coaches – who will bring a new approach and invaluable support to the existing staff.
Separately, the promotion and appointment of our two Chris’ are crucial to what we are trying to achieve. Chris Cameron continues his meteoric rise from rookie positional coach into the role of assistant Head Coach, following a campaign in which he helped DC San Oswald’s revolution of a previously toothless defence into a nationally recognised powerhouse.
The appointment of Strength & Conditioning Coach Chris Halms also reflects the renewed focus on excellence permeating the Cheetahs organisation, with vast experience in professional personal training and nutrition, the U19s are provided with an avenue to pursue their personal and football fitness.”
