The Cheetahs are immediately back in action for their second game this weekend, as they travel to Swindon to face the Storm. A new opponent for Hertfordshire, Swindon have previously played in the SFC 2 West. They were welcomed to the SFC 2 South with a difficult game against the Portsmouth Dreadnoughts, who many expect to be the closest rivals to the Cheetahs’ title ambitions. After defeat against Portsmouth, no doubt the Storm will be looking to strike back.
HC Craig Barnes: “We’re looking forward to meeting the Storm this weekend, of course we’re under no illusion that this will be as straightforward as the Hastings game turned out to be. We have prepared diligently as usual and are expecting an improvement in execution levels throughout – particularly in the redzone. We get some more starters back for this one, so I am keen to see us play at something resembling optimum levels. I hope we can play entertaining football too”.
Offensive Captain Ben Weeks is keen for to build upon an impressive haul at Hastings, but is aware that “Swindon will present a different challenge, and the entire offence will need to function as a cohesive unit and make sure we adapt effectively to their defence” in order to come away victorious.
