The Hertfordshire Cheetahs are delighted to announce that they have made two more additions to the Senior squad coaching roster to take the total number of coaches for the squad to 16.
Max Duffin – Assistant Defensive Co-ordinator
Firstly, Max Duffin will be joining the staff as a defensive assistant to assist Defensive Co-ordinator Ray Palmer. Max began playing for the Cheetahs when he was 18 as a wide receiver, before playing defensive back for Bangor University and was named defensive captain. He then travelled to the US to coach American Football during summer camp in West Virginia in 2012 but returned to the Cheetahs after graduating from university. Max immediately took roles on the committee and coaching staff, alongside playing duties, and has been the Defensive Co-ordinator for the Youth squad for four years. Now retired from playing, Max will also be coaching the Senior programme as well as DC of the Youth programme.
Ben Brown – Wide Receivers Coach
Ben started playing American Football as a wide receiver for the London Blitz junior squad when only 17 and graduated to the Blitz senior programme shortly after. Ben then played at University for the Birmingham Lions, winning a national championship, and whilst at university played for the local Tamworth Phoenix. After moving to Spain and taking a two year sabbatical from Football, Ben returned to the UK and began playing for the Hertfordshire Cheetahs, first as a WR and then moved to defensive back to experience the other side of the ball. Ben retired from football in 2018 and immediately stepped into coaching where his experience will be invaluable.
The appointment of Max and Ben means the Cheetahs Senior team now have all positions covered by at least one coach, but are still on the lookout for assistants. If you are interested in coaching, whether experienced or not, please contact us here.
